LOUISVILLE, Ky. Air Max 97 Plus . -- Louisville is determined to get back on the gas against North Carolina State after its high-scoring offense was slowed down by Duke. The visiting Wolfpack not only want to keep the brakes on the seventh-ranked Cardinals and Heisman Trophy contender Lamar Jackson, but knock off a ranked opponent along the way.North Carolina State (4-2, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) faces its second straight top-10 road opponent in Louisville (5-1, 3-1). The Wolfpack would like to make up for missing a huge opportunity in last weeks agonizing 24-17 overtime loss at No. 3 Clemson .The Wolfpack defense did nearly everything necessary to win, forcing four turnovers and returning an interception for a touchdown. N.C. State drove toward a potential game-winning field goal at the end of regulation but missed, opening the door for the Tigers to win in OT. Now the Wolfpacks attention is squarely on Louisville. We believed we were going to win when we went down there and played good enough to win and just didnt get it, N.C. State coach Dave Doeren said. Those guys understand what they have to do to do it again, and we dont have any time to lick our wounds. Were playing, in my opinion, as good or better (a) team this week.Louisville would like to prove it after scoring a season low in points in its 24-14 escape of Duke .The output was more than 30 points less than the Cardinals nation-leading average coming in, and having the ball for just over 22 minutes was a factor. But Louisville made the most of its limited time of possession behind Jackson, who accounted for 325 of its 469 yards on offense along with a touchdown each passing and rushing -- including the late game-sealing score. The Cardinals accepted the outcome but know they could have done better. Improvement is certainly needed against N.C. State, which ranks fifth in the ACC in time of possession (31:50 per game) and has a blueprint to follow in keeping the ball out of Jacksons hands. We need to be more consistent, said Louisville coach Bobby Petrino, whose teams are 5-1 against N.C. State. We didnt have a lot of touches in that game and we had some good drives and came away with no points, so weve got to take care of the football.---Some other things to watch as the Wolfpack visit Louisville on homecoming:HEISMAN HYPE: Jacksons playing down being a Heisman favorite hasnt stopped the school from touting him. Louisville has even launched a website promoting him, , featuring his eye-popping statistics and lighting up a letter in his name after each game. Jackson said that while it was his childhood dream to win the trophy, the reality of actually being mentioned still hasnt hit me. I dont really think about it.NO RETURNS: Its been something close to that for the Wolfpack punt coverage, which has allowed just two returns for six yards this season. Theyll have their hands full against Cardinals return man Jaire Alexander, who took one back 69 yards for a TD against Florida State and had a 90-yard TD return last week against Duke nullified by an illegal block penalty.GOOD HANDS PEOPLE: Five Cardinals have at least 119 yards receiving with wideouts James Quick and Jamari Staples leading the way. They have 480 and 410 yards respectively with Quicks four TDs topping the receiving corps. Quick ranks fourth in the ACC with 80 yards receiving per game with Staples ninth at 68.3.DAYES OF THUNDER: Ranked behind Jackson and Florida States Dalvin Cook in ACC rushing is Wolfpack senior Matt Dayes with 111.5 yards per contest. Just over half of his 669 yards this season have come after contact, and he has rushed for 100 yards in 10 of his last 13 1/2 games.---AP Sports Writer Joedy McCreary in Raleigh, North Carolina, contributed to this report.---AP College Football: Nike Off White Italia . The Masters champion and winner of last weeks Australian PGA has a three-round total of 14-under 199 at Royal Melbourne. "Im in a really good position for tomorrow," Scott said. Nuovi Arrivi Scarpe Nike . "It doesnt get any better than that," Giambi said. "Im speechless." The Indians are roaring toward October. Giambi belted a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a shocking 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night, keeping the Indians up with the lead pack in the AL wild-card race. . -- Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Alrdridge were again the go-to duo for the Trail Blazers against the Kings. LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Dan Monson never spent much time scouting Lagerald Vick in preparing to play Kansas. It wound up being a big mistake. The sophomore guard scored a career-high 23 points on near-perfect shooting, Svi Mykhailiuk added 14 and fourth-ranked Kansas rolled to a 91-61 victory over the 49ers on Tuesday night.Thats what makes Kansas so good. (Vick) was not one we were focused on, Monson said, shaking his head. He just opened up the game with his shooting.Josh Jackson added 13 points and Devonte Graham had 12 for the Jayhawks (6-1), who doubled up the 49ers (1-8) at 50-25 out of the break and coasted to their 44th straight win at Allen Fieldhouse.Vick was 9 for 9 from the floor, one shy of the school record held by Norm Cook and Danny Manning, and hit four 3-pointers. His only miss came on the second of two free throws with 5:47 left.It was pretty big, he said of the basket. Pretty big.Justin Bibbins had 13 points to lead Long Beach State, which has lost eight in a row -- all on the road and mostly to teams that will be in the NCAA Tournament.Kansas is a great team, Monson said, and when youre a great team and youre better than the opponent, and then you play harder than them, it gets ugly.Making his second straight start, Vick got the high-flying Jayhawks off to a quick start. The paper-thin shooting guard knocked down a 3-pointer in the opening couple minutes, then showed his versatility with a shot-fake for an easy layup. Later in the half, he jumped in front of a pass and took it coast-to-coast for a reverse dunk that got the crowd on its feet.He did play well. He shot it great, Kansas coach Bill Self said. Hes improved a ton. Hes confident. Hes reacting instead of thinking, for the most part.Vick matched his career-best of 15 points set last weekend in the first half. You could just tell during the game that he was hot, Graham said. I kept telling everyone to keep trying to find him. Thats what I tried to do.Just about everybbody from Kansas had a hand in the rout: Jackson continued to make his early case for freshman of the year with some dynamic passing to go with his scoring and rebounding, and Graham and Frank Mason II continued to show why they form arguably the nations best backcourt. Air Max 97 Silver Uomo. Missing from the party was big man Landen Lucas, who has played crucial minutes for Kansas the past couple of years but has struggled this season. He missed the game with an oblique injury. The Jayhawks got inconsistent production from the rest of their post players, too.Youre not going to win consistently against good teams relying on making 3-point shots, Self said, because there are times youre not going to make them.STATS AND STREAKSKansas had a 41-24 advantage on the boards. ... The teams combined to go 19 of 37 from the foul line. ... Kansas was 14 of 26 from the 3-point line (53.8 percent) but 9 of 19 on foul shots (47.4). ... The Jayhawks committed 19 turnovers while the 49ers had 15.BIG PICTURELong Beach State looked weary after the opening few minutes. The 49ers have one more game left on a nine-game trip that covers more than 15,000 miles, and has included losses to North Carolina, UCLA, Louisville, Washington and Wichita State.Kansas had the final 20 minutes to toy with lineups, and Self emptied the bench for the second straight game. His son, Tyler Self, hit a 3-pointer to a huge roar in the final seconds.TIME WARPLong Beach State beat then-No. 1 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse in 1993.
