dnt feel my greatest out there," Querrey said

College football decisions often have a domino effect that can change the landscape of a program and nobody knows this more than the upstart Baylor Bears. Darren ODay Jersey . In 2007, four-star dual-threat Quarterback Robert Griffin III had committed to the University of Houston under then Head Coach Art Briles. When Briles left Houston to take over Baylor, Griffin III, the top commit in Briles recruiting class, decided to follow him.  After winning the Heisman in his junior season Griffin was the 2nd pick in the NFL draft.  Many thought the Bears would return to the middle-of-the-pack in the Big 12 without their star QB, but all it took was one player and one very gifted head coach to turn the program around. Baylor currently sits at #5 in the BCS polls with a perfect 7-0 record, tops in their conference.  They score the most points per game in the country (63.9) and have the 6th best defence (15.9).  QB Bryce Petty has 18 TD and 1 INT and former Oregon Duck Lache Seastrunk has 869 yards rushing and 11 TD in 7 games.  The offence is incredible, the defence can keep up and all because players are lining up to attend Baylor. 10 years ago Baylor had the 76th best recruiting class out of 117 Division I programs. Colorado State, Louisiana-Lafayette and San Jose State were among schools with better results.  Now thanks to Griffin III and the recent success of the Bears program, last year Baylor ranked 31st.  And this years crop is expected to be even better. Oregon is three spots higher in the polls and steals much of the attention as the must-watch team in college football but Baylor is every bit as fast and exciting.  Baylor scored 8 touchdowns against Kansas  last weekend, none of those drives took longer than 2 minutes.  The likelihood of the Ducks and Bears meeting in a National Championship isnt very high with Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State still amongst the unbeaten, but it would be amazing if they did.  The two schools are both on pace to break the record for most yards-per-game.  The one knock against Baylor has been their strength of schedule, but thats about to change in a big hurry.  Their remaining five games are against Big 12 teams that are either currently ranked or were ranked earlier in the season.  They stay home for dates with #10 Oklahoma and #15 Texas Tech before travelling to No. 18 Oklahoma State and Texas Christian.  The finale on December 7th will see the Texas Longhorns come to town in a game that could decide the conference.  That sentence alone has Bears fans in a place they werent sure theyd ever get, among the elite teams in a power conference. Baylor has had a swift turnaround thanks to one electric player taking the country by storm. Other notes from around the NCAA: - Many thought Penn State would gain momentum after their thrilling 4-overtime win against Michigan but that didnt prove to be the case.  The Nittany Lions were handed their worst defeat in nearly 114 years when they travelled to Ohio State.  The 63-14 loss wasnt as bad as the 64-5 drubbing at the hands of the Duquesne Athletic Club back in 1899. - Florida State rolled over NC State with 35 first quarter points.  It broke a 4 game losing streak for FSU as a ranked team versus an unranked NC State. - Recruiting kickers is going to become a bigger deal – Missouris undefeated season was shattered when Andrew Baggett missed a 24-yarder in double-overtime to hand South Carolina a victory. - LSU holds the longest non-conference winning streak in the FBS era – 45 straight wins.  Part of that comes from scheduling games like this past weekend against the Furman Paladins. - Northern Illinois remained unbeaten with a 59-20 win over Eastern Michigan.  4 different Huskies combined for 7 touchdown passes in the win.  QB Jordan Lynch threw for four scores, ran for one and even had his first career TD reception. - More from the kicking game, San Diego State relied on Seamus McMorrow twice in their bid to upend undefeated Fresno State.  McMorrow missed two tries, including a 37-yarder as regulation expired that would have won the game. The Aztecs fell in overtime 35-28. - Auburn is on a four-game winning streak for the first time since 2010 when they went 14-0 and won a National Championship with Cam Newton as their QB. Dylan Bundy Orioles Jersey . Nathan MacKinnon, Jamie McGinn and Jan Hejda also scored for the Avalanche, who won despite being outshot 38-23. MacKinnons goal, also on the power play, came with just over a minute remaining. Custom Orioles Jersey . Nigeria beat surprise package Ethiopia 2-0 in the second leg of their playoff for a comfortable 4-1 aggregate victory. Victor Moses converted a 20th-minute penalty after an Ethiopian handball, and Victor Obinna made certain of Nigerias place in Brazil with his powerful free kick in the 82nd at UJ Esuene Stadium. http://www.baseballoriolesshop.com/yovani-gallardo-orioles-jersey/ . Darren Helm scored on Detroits sixth attempt in the shootout and then Jonas Gustavsson stopped Andrew Shaws shot, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Former top-10 players Gael Monfils and Jurgen Melzer beat higher-ranked players Friday to advance to the Winston-Salem Open final. Monfils, the Frenchman ranked No. 43 in the world, overcame early struggles to beat 38th-ranked Alexandr Dolgopolov of the Ukraine 7-6 (11), 6-3 in the first semifinal at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. "Its very good for my confidence," said Monfils, who will play in his third tournament final of the season and his first since Nice, France, in mid-May. "Im not so happy with the way I played. I could have played better. I have to play better and be more sure of things." The 32nd-ranked Melzer, from Austria, then pulled off the biggest upset in the night match, beating American Sam Querrey -- at No. 29, the highest ranked player in the semifinals, and the crowd favourite -- 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. "Ive been serving well, and my ground strokes have been getting better from match to match," said Melzer, who also is playing in his third tournament final this season and his first since winning an ATP Challenger Tour event in Dallas in March. "After losing in the first round of my last two tournaments, if somebody would have told me I could be in the finals, I wouldve signed it." Monfils and Melzer each have four ATP tournament titles. Monfils holds a 4-0 lifetime record against Melzer, including a first-round victory in Munich in early May. "Every title means a lot," Melzer said. "Ive lost all the previous matches to him, so it will be a nice matchup tomorrow. Hopefully, I can pull it off, which would also be very good leading into the U.S. Open." Monfils -- ranked No. 7 in 2011 -- lost serve twice early and went down 4-0 in the first set to Dolgopolov. The Frenchman even received treatment on his left abdominal muscles and hip during the side exchange after the third game of the set. "I had a little pain before the match, and even during the match," said Monfils, who missed a month of action dealing with ankle and biceps injuries before playing in the final hard-court tournament before neext weeks U. Mark Trumbo Orioles Jersey. S. Open. "It was a bit better (after the trainer) worked on it, but I still felt it during the first set," he said. "Its not a tear, but its very tight. I just have to take care of it, and I should be fine." After the injury break, Monfils broke Dolgopolovs serve twice to force the tiebreaker and win the first set. He then added two more service breaks in the second set. "It wasnt my best finish," said Dolgopolov, a Ukrainian who was playing in his first semifinal this season. "I was in the game, but every game I didnt finish out those important points. Game by game, he came back. "I was angry at myself -- I had too many chances. When you have that in your mind, after having played three matches (in the tournament), its tough to make yourself go out and forget about it." Melzer -- ranked as high as No. 8 in 2011 -- broke Querreys serve five times, and kept him off-balance for most of the match with his ground strokes and net game. Still, Querrey fought back after losing the first set, getting a pair of service breaks en route to winning the second set. He then held serve to open the third set and grab the early advantage. "I felt like I played really well for 1 1/2 sets," said Melzer, who lost two previous matches against Querrey. "Then I kind of lost it a little bit, got a little too passive on my side and forgot about the game plan. I was lucky in the beginning of the third (set) to not get broken again. But after that, I started playing well again." Querrey nearly pulled off another service break to open the third set, putting Melzer down 15-40 in the second game. But Melzer fought back to hold serve, then broke Querreys serve the next game to take the advantage. "I didnt feel my greatest out there," Querrey said, who lost in the semifinals for the second straight year. "I played a little sloppy in the first set, then that break in the second (set) helped me regain all the momentum. If I couldve stuck that other break in the third set, maybe it couldve been different." Wholesale Jerseys China ' ' '
