DALLAS -- The Mavericks have informed representatives of Golden States Harrison Barnes that they intend to sign the restricted free agent to an offer sheet for a four-year, $95 million contract, two people with knowledge of Dallas plans said Saturday. .The people spoke to The Associated Press about the potential maximum contract on the condition of anonymity because no deals can be signed before July 7. The Warriors can match any deal for Barnes and are more likely to do so if they dont get an agreement with Kevin Durant.Durant, a four-time scoring champion and 2014 NBA MVP with Oklahoma City, has held meetings with the Thunder, Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio and Boston. Hes expected to meet with Miami on Sunday.Barnes was the fourth-leading scorer behind Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green for the 73-win Warriors, who lost to Cleveland in the NBA Finals. The 6-foot-8 forward is a potential replacement for Chandler Parsons, who has agreed to sign with Memphis. The Mavericks plan, first reported by ESPN, comes a day after their top two targets in free agency, Memphis guard Mike Conley and Miami center Hassan Whiteside, decided to stay with their current teams. Parsons, Conley and Whiteside are getting max contracts. Its the fifth straight year that Dallas has missed on its primary plans for free agency since choosing financial flexibility over keeping key pieces of the team that won the franchises only championship in 2011. The Mavericks havent won a playoff series since their title season.Dallas made Conley and Whiteside their priorities over Parsons, who missed all but one playoff game in two seasons with the Mavericks because of injuries to his right knee. The first was more serious, requiring surgery that pushed his rehab into the start of last season. As Parsons was rounding into form with the playoffs drawing near, he sustained another right knee injury that required more surgery but wasnt considered as serious.Barnes isnt as versatile as Parsons but could give the Mavericks another 3-point threat to go with shooting guard Wesley Matthews and star Dirk Nowitzki. The big German opted out of the final year of his three-year contract but is expected to re-sign with Dallas, where the 38-year-old has spent all of his 18 seasons. The addition of Barnes would also meet Dallas goal of trying to get younger and plan for a future without Nowitzki. The 24-year-old Barnes averaged 11.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in his fourth season with the Warriors, shooting 38 percent from 3-point range. But there would be questions about how effective Barnes could be when defenses arent focused on stopping Curry, the two-time MVP, and Thompson, his fellow Splash Brother. They combined to make nearly nine per game from long range, and Curry set an NBA record with 402 made 3s in the regular season.Barnes was the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft out of North Carolina. . PAUL, Minn. . Robinson finished with 17 points, all but two in the second half, and Lawson had 14 after halftime and finished with a game-high 11 assists as the Nuggets handed Dallas its first home loss in eight games this season. J.J. Hickson led Denver with 22, and Kenneth Faried added 10 points and 10 rebounds. . The phone hearing is scheduled for 4:30pm et/1:30pm pt. Winchester, who was not penalized for the hit, appeared to make contact with Kellys head early in the first period of Thursdays game in Boston. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason thought it was fun watching Mississippi freshman Shea Patterson in his college debut last week. Defending against the quarterback who just led a big fourth-quarter rally to upset then-No. 8 Texas A&M brings out an entirely different emotion.Weve got our work cut out for us, Mason said. The Commodores (4-6, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) are hosting Ole Miss (5-5, 2-4) on Saturday night with time and games running out to become bowl eligible. The Rebels suddenly have new life with Patterson showing just how effective he could be taking over once they lost senior Chad Kelly to a knee injury, posting a 29-28 comeback win on the SEC road.Mason said the Ole Miss offense remains similar, but the 6-foot-2 Patterson reminds the Vandy coach of another quarterback he had to defend against while at Stanford in Marcus Mariota with the freshman able to run and extend plays while also looking downfield to make a bigger play. That makes containing Patterson, who ran 15 times for 64 yards at Texas A&M, crucial. This quarterback is capable of having a big game, Mason said.Patterson will be making his second straight start on the SEC road, though visiting the smallest stadium in the league will be a much easier trip than going to Kyle Field. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze isnt worried after what he saw in Pattersons debut. Patterson threw for 338 yards and drove the Rebels to four scores in the big comeback after 21-6.As the game went on, I thought he got more and more comfortable, and the fourth quarter he had for a true freshman in that environment was pretty special, Freeze said.Vanderbilt now has lost two straight and needs its first win over Ole Miss since 2012 to play its way into bowl eligibility. The Commodores are coming off a 26-17 loss at Missouri .---Some other things to knoww about the Rebels visit to Vanderbilt:OLE MISS STARTS FAST: Ole Miss has just a 5-5 record despite having a lead at halftime in nine out of 10 games. The only time the Rebels trailed was last week against Texas A&M. Said Freeze: Maybe we need to try that more often.COMMODORES NO CUPCAKE: Ole Miss has won three straight games against Vanderbilt including a 27-16 victory in Oxford last season . But this has been a very close series over the past decade. The Commodores have won six out of the past 11 meetings dating back to 2005.RALPH WEBBS HEALTH: The Commodores have been using a running back by committee approach with junior Ralph Webb recovering from an injured ankle. Webb had been leading the SEC in rushing earlier this season and still ranks fifth in the league. But Webb ran for only 46 yards in a loss at Auburn and had just 34 last week at Missouri. He currently has 935 yards rushing and needs 150 yards to become Vandys all-time leading rusher.BOWL HOPES: Ole Miss needs one more win to be bowl eligible for a fifth-straight season. The last time the Rebels made five straight bowls was from 1957 to 1971, when the program made the postseason 15 consecutive times. Freeze said making a bowl matters as a reward for the seniors and with so many underclassmen needing the extra practice.SHURMUR IMPROVING: Vandy quarterback Kyle Shurmur is coming off his best back-to-back games, throwing for 473 yards to rank second in the SEC in November. He threw for 252 yards last week at Missouri, completing passes to nine different receivers. But he also was intercepted twice.---AP Sports Writer David Brandt contributed to this report---More AP college football: Cheap Hoodies From China Discount NFL Shirts Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Fast Shipping China Jerseys Stitched Jerseys ' ' '
